Seeking: Lunch Club Coaches (LCCs) and Assistant Lunch Club Coaches (ALCCs)

Positions Available: Multiple

Locations: On site at various elementary schools in Toronto, Mississauga, Etobicoke.

Hours: Part-time (contract), 1-5 shifts per week that take place over the lunch period in the late morning/early afternoon. Shift lengths: 2.5 hours for LCCs and 1.5 hours for ALCCs.

Compensation:

  • Lunch Club Coach: $14 per hour

  • Assistant Lunch Club Coach: $12 per hour

A glimpse at the role:

Lunch Club Coaches (LCCs) and Assistant Lunch Club Coaches (ALCCs) belong to an enthusiastic team that shares an interest in food and healthy living. Proud to roll up your sleeves at schools to serve delicious meals made at the Real Food Kitchen, you help enable and inspire healthy eating habits, one meal at a time. You have an awesome personality and a genuine smile. Special consideration will be given to those whose friendly attitude suits an elementary school environment.


Lunch Club Coaches

  • Length of shift: 2.5 hours for 1-5 days a week

  • Communicate with the RFRK office about allergies and dietary restrictions, supplies, equipment, issues and troubleshooting

  • Some scheduling of team members


Assistant Lunch Club Coaches

ALCCs support the LCC when large enrollment and school logistics require the help of an Assistant.

  • Similar training and knowledge as LCC

  • Length of shift: 1.5 hours for 1-5 days per week

  • Fills in for LCC when away

Basic Requirements:

  • Experience with kids

  • Able to read, write and speak English and/or French proficiently

  • Friendly, energetic and responsible

  • Able to follow police background check requirements (Clearance Letter + Vulnerable Sector Screening)  in a timely manner:

    • Clearance Letter: LCCs/ALCCs are responsible for obtaining and paying for a Clearance Letter ($20) before an offer letter is finalized

    • Vulnerable Sector Screening: RFRK will help facilitate completion of the Vulnerable Sector Screening upon finalizing the job offer

  • Able to roll up sleeves and serve food quickly

  • Sound judgement and an ability to problem solve

  • A commitment to being organized and punctual

  • Excellent people skills; sensitive to the needs of others

  • An interest in food, healthy living and socially responsible business

Nice-to-haves:

  • Customer service experience

  • Toronto Public Health Food Handler’s Certificate
